ORIGIN STORY
THE BIRTH OF NDT HERO
Growing up on DC and Marvel comics, Eddie C. Pompa was fascinated by heroes with superpowers. Little did he know he would one day become part of an amazing team of real-life heroes — determined to protect and serve the world using radiography, ultrasonic energy, magnetic fields, and liquid penetrant testing.
The Non-Destructive Team — also called "Preventers" — are the men and women who work tirelessly behind the scenes to inspect materials across every industry, identifying potential flaws before they become failures. NDT Hero was created to celebrate these professionals and inspire the next generation to join the mission.
All artwork is hand-illustrated by Eddie using ink and sketch techniques, with each character representing one of the four major testing methods: PT, MT, UT, and RT.

Every year NDT Hero Advocates come together to provide students with a real-life NDT experience with hands on inspections that include the use of magnetism, sound waves, radiography for flaw detection, surface mapping, material identification with x-rays, and elevated work.
This provides student with the opportunity to network with area employers, industry experts, and put their classroom training to use in a real-world environment.
The safety and reliability of everything we use relies on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) expertise to insure our infrastructure remains reliable for the next passenger, customer, generation.
